On the occasion of the july 14th french national holiday, we celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Aecfm society with the organisation of a three day steam festival.
Pour ce genre d'événement, on ne peut se contenter des moyens habituels et la capacité normale d'un train voyageur et d'un train de marchandise a été doublée grâce à trois locomotives venant d'autres réseaux.
Étaient donc en service :
- La 040 DFB "Polska"
- La 020 "La Touraine"
- Le diesel "Billard"
- La 030 "Les Fontenelles" de l'AMTP
- La 030 "n°19" des Chanteraines
- La 040 DFB "Geneviève" de l'APEMVE
For this kind of event, we can not keep the usual methods and the normal capacity of one passenger train and one freight train has been doubled thanks to three locomotive from other railways.
Thus, were on duty:

Such a gathering is the occasion to form a train of machines we call "cavalcade", leading to a whistles concert.
Un organigramme de trafic complexe a permis de gérer les plus de 140 mouvements en gare quotidiens. Une soixantaine de membres actifs a assuré l'ensemble des opérations qui se sont parfaitement déroulées.
A complex traffic chart allowed to handle more than 140 moves a day in the station. Around 60 active members were in charge of the operations that went perfectly.
Thus, were on duty:
- The 080 Brigadelok "Polska"
- The 040 "La Touraine
- The Diesel "Billard"
- The 060 "Les Fontenelles" of the AMTP
- The 030 "Nr19" of the Chanteraines
- The 080 Brigadelok "Geneviève" of the APEMVE

Un petit marché gourmand aidait les voyageurs à patienter en gare (départs toutes les 20 minutes au lieu de 45 habituellement).
A little gourmet market helped the visitors to wait near the station (departures every 20 minutes instead of 45 usually).

Pour l'occasion, le parcours des voyageurs était modifié avec la possibilité de descendre visiter le dépôt où se trouvaient une mini-brocante, des expositions de tracteurs, véhicules et matériels anciens, ainsi que la buvette snack. Un autre train les reprenait ensuite pour retourner en gare.
For the occasion, the passenger trip was altered as they had the possibility to get off the train to visit the depot and find a mini flea market, exhibitions of old tractors, vehicules and various equipments, as well as the buvette/snack. An other train took them later back to the station.

La rotonde, elle, abritait une exposition de modélisme ferroviaire plutôt bien fournie.
The roundhouse hosted a rather well supplied model exhibition.
Au terminus de la ligne (digue de Pincemaille), l'activité se montrait vraiment intense par moments: deux rames entourées par 4 locomotives. Accoster, accrocher, décrocher (et trouver les bons attelages dans chaque configuration, différente à chaque fois), actionner les aiguillages. L'équipe d'un agent circulation pour deux agents de manœuvre a parfois reçu le renfort d'un troisième agent de manœuvre pour ne pas perdre de temps et respecter l'horaire.

To accost, hook, unhook (and find the proper links for each different configuration each time), handle the switchings. The team of one traffic agent and two shunting agents was sometimes reinforced by a third shunting agent to avoid losing time and keep on schedule.
Au dépôt, un autre agent circulation gérait les trains en liaison radio avec le chef circulation. Des agents de manœuvre assuraient la sécurité dans la rampe et posaient des cales derrière les derniers wagons pour éviter tout risque de dérive.
En gare, Le poste de chef de gare était doublé pour faire face au nombre de visiteurs. C'était donc très chargé mais tout a parfaitement fonctionné.
La fréquentation sur les trois jours a largement dépassé les prévisions grâce au beau temps et à une promotion intensive. Les témoignages reçus après la manifestation étaient plutôt élogieux et récompensent tout le travail mis en œuvre pour préparer et conduire ce festival.

La fréquentation sur les trois jours a largement dépassé les prévisions grâce au beau temps et à une promotion intensive. Les témoignages reçus après la manifestation étaient plutôt élogieux et récompensent tout le travail mis en œuvre pour préparer et conduire ce festival.
Nous remercions les 3 associations ayant prêté leurs locos, les 5 associations ayant exposé leurs modèles réduits et autres activités, les collectionneurs qui présentaient leurs véhicules et matériels anciens, et bien sûr tous les visiteurs qui ont fait le succès de ce festival.
