Gros chantier voie partie 5 - Large track work part 5

Ici, il ne s'agit plus vraiment de voie mais de l'aménagement du quai de la gare, qui a eu lieu à la fin de la troisième journée de ce week-end de la Toussaint, vraiment bien chargé.
It is not really track work here, but reshaping the station platform that took place at the end of this third day of a busy week-end.

Le quai A, le plus utilisé, a été rehaussé quelques jours plus tôt d'un rang de parpaings afin de faciliter l'accès des voyageurs dans les voitures, sans avoir à placer une caisse devant les marchepieds. Les avantages sont multiples: éviter la chute de passagers, faciliter l'accès aux personnes qui ont du mal à marcher ainsi que l'usage de la rampe pour fauteuils roulants, libérer les agents en gare de la gestion des caisses en bois qui par ailleurs gênaient le passage pendant les phases d'affluence.
Comme le stock de terre a été principalement consommé pour la rampe (voir parties précédentes), il a fallu en chercher à d'autres endroits, comme entre la voie principale et le pont tournant, zone dont le dégagement va permettre la pose de nouvelles voies rayonnantes.

Platform A is the most used and had been raised a few days earlier about a row of concrete blocks for a better access of passengers without using wooden boxes in front of car stairs. The advantages are multiple: avoid someone falling, easier acces for persons with walking difficulties as well as easier use of the ramp for wheelchairs and getting station agents free of handling the boxes that encumbered the passageway in crowded conditions.
As the soil stock has been used for the ramp reshaping (see previous parts), it was necessary to find some in other places as in between the main track and the turntable, this zone now being cleared for new parking stations.

La terre a donc été transférée vers la gare pour remplir le volume entre le quai et la gare provisoire qui, en retrait et surélevée, nécessite un aménagement de l'accès.
The soil was then transfered towards the station to fill the volume between the quay and the temporary station which is a little farther and higher then needed access improvement.

La terre est bien compactée et recouverte d'un géotextile avant la pose d'une couche de grave, également compactée.

Le chantier a pris fin sur cette opération, légèrement incomplète faute de matériaux à déverser, le matériel de location (pelleteuse et rouleau compacteur), devant être restitué. Le quai est cependant rehaussé comme prévu et praticable pour la prochaine saison.

The work session ended on this operation, slightly incomplete due to a lack of materials to unload there, the rental machines (hydraulic excavator and compactor) had to be sent back. The platform is nevertheless raised as planned and ready for next season.
