Nouveaux chantiers - New works

Exploiter un train touristique demande un travail permanent: il ne faut pas se contenter du minimum. De nouveaux chantiers visent à augmenter les capacités d'accueil des visiteurs en matériel roulant.
   To operate a touristic train requires permanent work: we can not settle for the minimum. New works are aimed to increase our capacity to welcome visitors with rolling stock.

Ainsi, la baladeuse de Pithiviers est-elle en cours d'équipement de conduites d'air comprimé pour le circuit de freinage. Ces conduites permettront de l'intégrer à la rame voyageurs. Les tuyauteries en acier sont cintrées pour contourner les éléments du châssis avant d'y être fixées.
   So, the balladeuse from Pithiviers is being equipped with air lines for the brake system. These pipes will allow to insert the carriage in passenger trains. The steel pipes are bent to get around chassis elements prior to be attached to it.

Elles aboutissent à chaque extrémité à des connexions servant au raccordement par des flexibles et des vannes d'isolement, domaine de l'agent de manœuvre... La peinture est une protection mais aussi un code d'identification: blanc pour la conduite principale qui apporte l'air du compresseur à la loco (vapeur), et noir pour la conduite générale qui commande les freins.
   They are fitted at each end with connectors, flexible hoses and isolation valves, domain of the shunting agent... Paint is a protection but also has an identification purpose: white for the main line that brigs air for compressor to the (steam) loco, and black for the general line that controls the brakes.

Il reste bien d'autres choses à faire avant la mise en service, comme l'adaptation des attelages, la pose du circuit électrique de sonorisation et d'alarme, une bonne peinture, etc.
   Many other things remain to be done, as couplings adaptation, electrical wiring for public address and alarm, a coat of paint, etc.


Un autre chantier est celui de la 030 Decauville dont le déshabillage de la chaudière a également été entrepris pour une présentation à un inspecteur Apave. Le but, comme pour la DFB, est de savoir s'il sera possible de remettre la chaudière en service.
   An other works is dealing with the 060 Decauville, on which the bodywork removal has been undertaken for presentation to boiler inspector. As for the Brigadelok, the aim is to know if the boiler can be qualified for duty again.

Decauville TMB30: Il tourne - It runs

Le locotracteur Decauville TMB30 pris en charge par Johnatan a fonctionné sur ses deux cylindres lors d'essais au mois d'août qui l'ont montré capable de se déplacer par ses propres moyens et d'entraîner le TMB15 l'ayant fait démarrer.
Il y aurait semble-t-il un joint de culasse à refaire, en plus de bien d'autres choses, mais il est déjà acquis que cet engin pourra être remis en service.
The Decauville TMB30 engine, in charge of Johnatan, ran on its two cylinders during august trials where it was able to move by itself and to tow the TMB15 which was used for starting. It seems a cylinder head seal is to be replaced, as well as loads of other things, but it is a fact that this engine will be back into service.

Restauration engins diesel engines restoration

Le travail de restauration des petits engins diesel suit son cours.

Le Ruston voit sa tôlerie avant neuve progresser lentement mais sûrement. Yves-André a offert une poignée de vis à tête fraisée pour reproduire l'assemblage d'origine du carter de courroie. Les logements ont donc été réalisés pour noyer ces têtes de vis. La cornière supérieure a été également reproduite et mise en place, montrant alors toute l'utilité des trous oblongs pour pouvoir reposer la grille frontale. Une rangée de trous a été en partie traitée à la lime, le reste sera fait avec une fraise motorisée...
The Ruston engine has its new front panel slowly completed. Yves-André offered some taper head screws to reproduce the original assembly of the belt protection. Chamfers have been machined to accomodate these screws. The upper square angle bar has been reproduced also and mounted, then showing the need of oblong holes in order to fix the blower protection grid. A row has been partially filed by hand, the rest will be with a powered tool...

Le TMB30 Decauville ex Cemnad (maintenant AMD pour Amis du Musée Decauville), aux mains de Jonathan, a été grandement révisé: gros nettoyage, diverses réparations, reconstruction du circuit de refroidissement... et un essai de démarrage a été mené le 6 juillet tracté par un TMB15. Un seul cylindre a bien voulu fonctionner sur les deux mais cela permettait déjà d'entretenir la rotation. Cela fait très plaisir de voir cet engin reprendre vie quand on a connu son état le jour de sa récupération. La culasse du cylindre récalcitrant a été déposée pour chercher l'origine du problème. Une semaine plus tard, ça fonctionne enfin mais il faut toujours un autre engin pour le démarrage...
The TMB30 Decauville ex Cemnad (now AMD standing for Amis du Musée Decauville / Friends of the Decauville Museum), in the hands of Jonathan, has been largely overhauled: strong cleaning, several repairs, rebuilding of the coolant circuit. A start-up trial has been conducted on july 6th with the help of a TMB15 for a push-start. Only one cylinder ignited but it allowed to maintain the rotation. It is really pleasant to see this engine live again knowing its bad condition when reclaimed. The cylinder head has been removed to seek out the trouble. One week later, at last it runs but an other engine is still needed for start...

Le "Paquebot", quant à lui, a de nouveau une cabine et reprend donc forme, laissant espérer une remise en service à relativement court terme.
The "Paquebot" has now a new cabin and takes its shape, giving hope to be back in service under rather short term.
