Mocky tourne à Rillé - Mocky shoots at Rillé

Le cinéaste Jean-Pierre Mocky a choisi le site de Rillé pour tourner quelques séquences d'un court métrage "Agafia". Quelques bénévoles de l'association se sont prêtés au jeu.
  Film maker Jean-Pierre Mocky has chose the Rillé Railway for shooting some sequence of a short: "Agafia". Some volunteers of the society took part of this adventure.

La gare de Slovof - Slovof station

Tenue d'époque exigée - Old time dressing required

Les décorateurs sont arrivés quelques jours avant le tournage pour préparer les décors. Le tournage a eu lieu le jour prévu sans problème, les décorateurs sont partis les derniers après démontage de la gare de Slovof.
Un train spécial a été formé pour l'occasion et la locomotive "Polska" a fait sa première entrée dans une gare russe ! Le matériel historique comme la voiture "Anjou" est particulièrement bien adapté à ce genre d'exercices.
Ce tournage est un nouveau marqueur dans la vie de l'association et a pour sûr laissé de bons souvenirs à ceux qui étaient présents.
Tout le monde est maintenant impatient de voir le résultat...
  The decorators came a few days before the shooting to prepare settings. Shooting took place as scheduled without problem, the decorators were last to depart after removing all traces of the Slovof station. A special train was formed for the occasion and the locomotive "Polska" did its first entrance in a russian station ! Historical material as the "Anjou" carriage is particularly well suited for such exercise.
This shooting is a new marker in the society life and for sure left good memories for those involved.
Now, everyone is waiting impatiently to see the result...

O&K Montania: première approche - first approach

Le locotracteur diesel O&K Montania récupéré en Normandie a été identifié comme un modèle LD16 datant de 1932. Il a été examiné de près au mois d'août pour la première fois depuis son arrivée à Rillé. L'observation s'est vite transformée en un démontage exploratoire pour faire un état des lieux.
La première étape consistait à trouver pourquoi le moteur était bloqué. L'ouverture du couvercle ayant donné accès au vilebrequin, ce dernier a été "aidé" à la barre à mine...
Finalement, ce n'était pas le piston qui était collé dans le cylindre mais le volant moteur qui frottait sur une cornière de fixation de capot, gonflée par la rouille !
  The O&K Montania diesel engine we got in Normandy has been identified as a model LD16 dated 1932. We inspected it closely for the first time since its arrival at Rillé. The inspection rapidly transformed in an exploratory dismantling for inventory.
The first step was to find out why the engine was blocked. Opening the cover has given access to the crankshaft, this latter has been "helped" with steel bars... Finally, it was not the piston that was stuck but the flywheel jammed by a piece of corroded angle bar for body sheet fixture !

Suivent alors divers démontages pour vérifier la fonction de différents éléments et juger de leur état. Le circuit de carburant et celui de lubrification sont donc déposés.
  Then we continued to disassemble several elements to evaluate their condition. Fuel and lubricant circuits are taken down.

L'engin est déplacé sur une fosse pour aller voir dessous, là aussi les points nécessitant une intervention sont notés soigneusement.
The engine is moved above a pit to see what's under and things needing corrections are  carefully noted.

Une vérification de l'état du radiateur (en le remplissant d'eau) nous révèle une fuite inquiétante. Non pas du radiateur qui semble bon, mais dans le moteur lui-même !
  Checking the radiator for leaks (filling it with water) reveals a troublesome leak: not in the radiator itself but in the engine !

Le démontage de la culasse confirmera qu'il s'agit d'une fuite interne dans le corps du moteur, il nous faudra démonter l'ensemble chemise/piston pour aller voir s'il serait possible de réparer cette fuite.
Ce sera l'objet d'un prochain chantier.
  The cylinder head being taken down, the engine internal leak is confirmed. We will have to extract the cylinder liner to see behind if it could be repaired.
This will be the subject of a future work session.

Decauville TMB30: Il tourne - It runs

Le locotracteur Decauville TMB30 pris en charge par Johnatan a fonctionné sur ses deux cylindres lors d'essais au mois d'août qui l'ont montré capable de se déplacer par ses propres moyens et d'entraîner le TMB15 l'ayant fait démarrer.
Il y aurait semble-t-il un joint de culasse à refaire, en plus de bien d'autres choses, mais il est déjà acquis que cet engin pourra être remis en service.
The Decauville TMB30 engine, in charge of Johnatan, ran on its two cylinders during august trials where it was able to move by itself and to tow the TMB15 which was used for starting. It seems a cylinder head seal is to be replaced, as well as loads of other things, but it is a fact that this engine will be back into service.
