Fosse à essieux - Axle pit

Le projet de fosse à essieux a pris forme concrètement avec la mise en place de la table élévatrice et ses premiers essais.
   The project of an axle pit took shape with the setting of the elevating table and its first trials.

La fosse a été creusée et maçonnée avant le bétonnage du sol de l'extension de la rotonde. Les rails de la voie 7 auront donc une section mobile sur laquelle l'essieu à réparer sera aligné. Une fois détaché de la loco, l'essieu sera descendu par la table élévatrice. Cette table est elle-même posée sur des rails à l'équerre de la voie en fond de fosse pour amener l'essieu à côté de la machine et le remonter à hauteur du sol où il sera bien plus facile de travailler dessus.
   The pit has been excavated and built prior to the pouring of the concrete on the roundhouse extension floor. The rails of track 7 will then have a mobile section on which the axle to be repaired will be aligned. Once detached form the loco, the axle will be lowered by the elevating table. This table is set on rails square to the track, on the bottom of the pit to bring the axle along the loco and to lift it on the floor level where it will be far easier to work on it.

Il ne sera donc plus nécessaire de lever une loco pour intervenir sur un essieu, l'opération étant délicate tant que les 4 chevalets ne sont pas en place.
   It will no longer be needed to lift a loco to repair an axle, the operation being so delicate since the 4 lifting racks are not installed yet.

Anneaux d'attelage - Coupling rings.

Après une expérimentation de fabrication artisanale d'un prototype, une petite série d'anneaux d'attelage a été produite.
   After an experiment of handcrafted prototype, a small series of coupling links has been produced.

Le proto a permis de valider le concept et de déterminer quelques modifications à apporter au procédé de fabrication. Le gabarit a ainsi été modifié pour faciliter le formage.
   The prototype validated the concept and allowed to determine some alterations to the manufacturing process. The pattern has been modified for an easier forming.

La fabrication reste traditionnelle, à la forge à charbon.
   Construction remains traditional on a charcoal forge.

Le formage se finit sur l'enclume.
   Forming is completed on the anvil.

Les pièces de cette petite série destinée à équiper la rame de Rillé seront ensuite soudées. Les manipulations d'attelages seront plus faciles à faire pour les agents de manœuvre.
   The pieces of this small series to be used on the Rillé train will the be welded. Handling coupling links will be easier for the shunting agents.

Arrivée de matériels - Carriages arrival

De nouveaux matériels sont arrivés à Rillé en provenance d'un réseau voisin.
New carriages arrived at Rillé from a nearby railway.

En provenance de l'AAPA d'Angers, l'un est une caisse de voiture à voie métrique, dernière survivante du tramway du Loiret, l'autre est une caisse de draisine.
C'est vraiment pour l'intérêt historique qu'ils ont été récupérés car ces matériels ne sont pas vraiment roulants...
Coming from the AAPA society of Angers, one is the case of a metric gauge passengers carriage, last surviving of the Loiret tramway. The other one is a draisine case.
It is really for the historic interest that these items were reclaimed since they are not really rolling stock...

Ces deux restants de caisses vont devoir être stockés en attendant un examen approfondi pour déterminer leur potentiel et leur trouver un châssis.
   These two remainings will be stored untill a thorough examination determines their potential and for a chassis to be found.
